MorseSpeaker

Accessibility

Accessibility is the point of this app, not a feature of it.

MorseSpeaker's core function — turning received Morse code into a spoken voice — exists first for blind and low-vision amateur radio operators. CW has a long history in the blind ham community, and an app that speaks received code into an earbud, with no screen-reading required during a contact, is meant to serve that tradition directly.

The same standard applies here: semantic headings and landmarks, a skip-to-content link, visible keyboard focus, text contrast beyond WCAG AA, no information carried by color alone, and animation disabled when your system requests reduced motion. The decorative Morse code on these pages is hidden from screen readers except where it carries meaning, where it is described in words.

Feedback shapes this app. If you use MorseSpeaker with VoiceOver, low vision, or in any assistive setup and something gets in your way, please say so — reports from real operating conditions are how every part of this app was built. Email morsespeaker@tbaker.com — accessibility reports are read first.
