MorseSpeaker

Terms of Use

Applies to MorseSpeaker 1.0. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms.

License

MorseSpeaker is licensed, not sold, to you for personal use on Apple devices you own or control, under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms supplement that agreement; where they conflict, Apple's agreement governs your use of the App Store copy.

What the app is — and isn't

MorseSpeaker is a receive-only decoder of audible Morse code tones. It does not transmit, does not connect to or control any radio, and requires no amateur radio license to use. It is a convenience and accessibility tool, not certified communications equipment.

Not for emergency or safety-critical use. Decoding accuracy depends on acoustics — volume, distance, noise, and echo — and no accuracy is guaranteed. Do not rely on MorseSpeaker as your sole means of receiving emergency, distress, safety, or navigation traffic, or for any purpose where a misread character could cause harm.

Accuracy and the "Fix words" feature

Decoded text is a best-effort interpretation of sound travelling through open air, and may contain errors, omissions, or — when the optional word-correction feature is enabled — corrections that differ from what was actually sent. You are responsible for verifying any received content that matters.

Acceptable use

Use the app lawfully. You are responsible for complying with the laws and regulations that apply to you, including any rules governing the monitoring of radio transmissions in your jurisdiction.

No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the app — including missed, incomplete, or incorrectly decoded messages.

Intellectual property

The app, its design, and this website are the property of the developer. International Morse Code itself belongs to everyone.

Changes

These terms may be updated for future versions of the app. Material changes will be reflected on this page before the version they apply to ships. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
