Applies to MorseSpeaker 1.0
The short version: MorseSpeaker collects nothing. Audio from the microphone is analyzed on your device, in the moment, and is never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere.
Microphone audio
MorseSpeaker asks for microphone access for one purpose: detecting Morse code tones so it can decode them. Audio is processed in real time, in memory, on your device. It is not recorded, not written to a file, and not transmitted off the device — there is no server for it to go to.
What the app stores
- Decoded text appears on screen during a session and disappears when you clear it or close the app. It is not saved anywhere.
- One preference — whether you've seen the first-launch setup tips — is stored on your device so the tips aren't shown twice.
What the app doesn't do
- No accounts, sign-ins, or personal information
- No analytics, tracking, or advertising of any kind
- No network connections — the app functions entirely offline
- No third-party services or SDKs
The diagnostic report
A long-press on the app's title copies a diagnostic report — the decoded text plus technical readings like signal strength and tone frequency — to your clipboard. This exists so you can share a report when troubleshooting. It happens only when you deliberately do it, and the report goes only where you choose to paste it.
Changes and contact
If a future version ever changes any of the above, this page will say so plainly before that version ships. Questions are welcome — email morsespeaker@tbaker.com.
